Ice, Ice Baby

Finally... after 24 hours of anticipation, the "Great Ice Storm of 2009" made its way through Dallas. Can you sense the sarcasm? The storm dropped a massive 1/16" thick sheet of ice on everything - and the entire city shut down. In fact, the threat of a winter storm was enough to close some schools an entire day before the winter storm passed through. Come on, Dallas! You're better than that.

Um...really? Only 1/16"? I would have thought TX would be like KS – school doesn't shut down unless it's a pile of bricks.

Having experienced actual ice storms now that I'm a Kansas, that was pretty wimpy Texas.
