Inspiration

One of my graduate school assignments this semester is to experiment with new and different design techniques. I thought it would be interesting to try out a variety of typographical treatments for everyday words. Here is what I came up with for the word "desire":



After taking a step back to examine what I created, I thought about what could have inspired me to do this. I realized that these typographical shapes were subconsciously influenced by a music video. It was the new video for the Fleet Foxes song "Mykonos". Here is the video:



This just proves that I don't have to look very far for artistic inspiration. It's all around me - music, movies, TV, magazines, nature, etc. In fact, all of you should be careful what you say around me... I just might take your words and incorporate them into one of my designs.

Unfortunately... you will never see anything I do that is inspired by Animusic... those videos...are...HORRIBLE!
